Baptisms River Life Church Baptisms occur on the 1st wednesday’s of the month at 7:00pm. candidates should arrive by 6:30pm for the pre water baptism class. for registration and or more information, please fill out the form below and enter any questions on the ‘message’ field. Baptism is a step of obedience to christ for the new christian. if you have never been baptised as a christian believer, then please contact one of our pastors who would be pleased to explain more to you. baptism services are held throughout the year at river of life church. It allows you to identify with christ’s death and resurrection. baptism is a symbol of christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. our entrance into the water during baptism identifies us with christ’s death on the cross, his burial in the tomb, and his resurrection from the dead. It simply means that you've decided to make jesus your lord and savior (i.e. the leader of your life and the only one who can save you from your sins). in baptism, you are choosing to identify yourself with the death, burial, and resurrection of jesus christ. Water baptism is a public declaration of a believer's union and new identity in christ. it is an outward expression of our commitment in receiving christ as our personal lord and saviour. water baptism at riverlife comprises two parts – water baptism class and water baptism service. Jesus, himself, got baptized in the jordan river, even though he was without sin. he humbled himself to undergo this process so that he could identify with us and give us an example to follow.
