Blender 2 79 Tutorials Modeling Blender Education Portal Anyways, i've been trying for two days to convert a model's normal map into a displacement map. i want to 3d print models from a video game, and i don't have the patience, time or energy to spend hours resculpting all of the scales, wrinkles, folds, etc. In previous version of blender, it was possible to do the mapping just by accessing texture from the properties panel. however, in blender 2.79 this is no longer possible and the only way to scale image textures is to manually add a mapping node in the node editor.

Blender 2 79c Blender Development Developer Forum I am baking a normal map in cycles and keep getting strange results, i do not know what am i doing wrong. i tried baking in cycles in tangent and object space, tried baking in bi in tangent and object space. Also, true displacement can be used in shaders when the experimental render settings are enabled, allowing you to perform math operations or anything else useful in the node editor on your height map.
