Kyoto Travel Guide Japan Travel Now Specifically, i will be leaving reaching kyoto around 12pm on 12th jan and leaving kyoto on the morning of 14th jan. therefore, there is only 1.5 days of exploring in kyoto. i would love to do arashiyama bamboo forest and fushimi inari (red gates) on 13th jan, which leaves me only 0.5 days for the rest my time in kyoto. I'm solo traveling, and looking to do both cool interesting cultural things and fun night life outings as cheap as possible. as of now i'm doing a day in osaka, 5 in kyoto, and 6 in tokyo. i'm considering extending my time in osaka and doing less in kyoto. i've heard mixed reviews on the cities. any advice? edit: thank you so much for all your advice and feedback, it’s much appreciated! i.
Kyoto Travel Guide 11 Camille Styles I would suggest the cross hotel kyoto (different location than the sakura cross hotel suggested in another comment.) it was super close to pontocho alley and kiyamachi dori. we easily walked to gion several times. the sanyo train station is a 5 minute walk, and it was fairly easy getting to from kyoto station. Kyoto is a bit more difficult to get around so if you have a tour that includes transportation i’d personally say it’s worth it. i’m sure there’s a few exclusive things than can be done on a tour but like 80% of them are probably just ripoffs you could do yourself. The small downside, i think, is that to get anywhere else often requires getting back to kyoto station which is an additional hop. and i dunno what airbnbs are like these days (heh, i'm probably overthinking any potential changes in the last year). We will be going to tokyo, hakone, kyoto, nara (day trip), and osaka (with probably one more day trip from there) over 2 weeks. like the title says, i'm curious about what tourist traps to avoid. let me be clear: we are american tourists on our first trip to japan we are going to wind up at a lot of tourist spots. What has been your experience with luggage delivery? i’m most concerned about the luggage being damaged or lost in transit. has anyone received a damaged suitcase upon delivery? also i understand that luggage can be sent to and from airports, hotels, and konbinis, but can luggage be sent to a residential address as well? is there a significant price difference between sending luggage to and. The only "kyoto spot" that you need to see is fushimi inari (did you even go to kyoto if you didnt take a picture of the tori gates?) go early morning to fushimi inari, climb the mountain and go down the other side, stop at the shop selling amasake and just chill out.
