Port Loko Bike Library Bikes For The World The work that both vbp and the bai bureh heritage foundation put into the concept of the bike library is quite impressive. the foundation will retain the bikes in perpetuity and be able to lend them to future in need students down the road. The main focus of the day was the one day training and bike distribution in port loko. we were fortunate enough to spend many hours with a community foundation that was implementing a bike library to aid students traveling long distances to school.

The bike library was added to ensure girls had access to bikes. now girls had the opportunity to commute alongside their brothers, stay in school, and earn their degrees. Bikes for the world sends bicycles donated in the d.c. area to other countries including the philippines, el salvador, barbados, ghana, sierra leone, burkina faso, madagascar and rwanda. Bikes aren’t meant for collecting dust; they’re built for adventure. since 1962, we’ve paired riders with the perfect bikes to hit the trails and roads, sharing the belief that life is better on a bike.
