Supporting Livelihoods And Mental Health In Port Loko Network For Africa The primary purpose of the project is to reduce the poverty of 300 people with mental illness epilepsy (pmies) and their carers. the participants are poor and marginalised, live in poverty stricken, rural communities where they struggle to meet their basic needs. The project led by network4africa (n4a) in port loko, sierra leone, is sustainably increasing the income of people with mental disorders epilepsy and their caregivers and families through livelihoods provision and support.
Supporting Livelihoods And Mental Health In Port Loko Network For Africa The livelihoods project commenced in july 2021, building on the community mental health work that network for africa (n4a) and conforti community aid children organisation port loko (conforti) have done since 2018, across bakeloko, kasseh and maforki chiefdoms. This new project will enable both community mental health and livelihoods programmes in port loko, sierra leone to continue. This new project will provide livelihood support to people with mental health issues in port loko, sierra leone. One of our generous supporters, a foundation in switzerland, visited our sierra leone project with us in january 2024. our local partner is conforti, working in port loko. the foundation’s representative met many of the people attending our counselling sessions and community education meetings.
