Transfer Uv Map Is Not Working Pasted Uv Is Broken Blender Stack

Transfer Uv Map Is Not Working Pasted Uv Is Broken Blender Stack In order to transfer uv, blender needs a correspondence; it uses vertex order. the first corner gets the uv of the first corner, the second of the second, and so on, until it's done. many import and export functions can re order uv. some of these have options to control uv re ordering. I wanted to create symmetric uv maps (created a mirrored duplication of my model and applied modifier) and now i’m trying to copy mirrored uv map to “new” model, but it wont work.

Transfer Uv Map Is Not Working Pasted Uv Is Broken Blender Stack Short description of error when transfering the uv map from one object to another (using ctrl l, transfer uv map), the result is sometimes wrong. Object mode: object > make links > transfer uv maps. this will retain any vertex groups on the original object if rigging has been set up etc. this is useful for creating symmetric uv maps. I have two objects here, the t posed one has a damaged uv map, the posed model has the working uv map, both have the same number of faces and vertex, but when i try to transfer the uv map it's destroyed. Can confirm that although the uv layout seems to be correcly transferred, the vertex order seems to be wrong, leading to weird uv mapping in the resulting object. mesh vertex order looks correct, the only thing wrong seems to be uv face corner vertex order.

To restore the old uv you can use the stack operator from add on, but sometimes the islands may not match, then you will have to move the points manually (or better to learn the principle of the operator, i.e. hiding unlike elements of the island). Not all the time, as i told my model consists about 20 objects (meshs) and about 7 of them have this problem with transfer uvs. another words almoust half of duplicated objects has this issue. So i have a uv on this model that i want to transfer to another model. in my scene i have the mesh that has the uvs and another mesh that has the same amount of polys (it's the same model with a slight alteration) and i want to move the uv to the altered mesh. Use mesh data transfer, instead (with both meshes overlapping the closest possible). this one will use a projection cage to correct things (use "projected face interpolated" options). that will give a better result.
