The firemen had been fighting a blaze in a hay barn at the rear of the home of c. r. madsen, 3027 main street. the fire was out, and they were preparing to go back to the station at commerce and hawkins streets. skidmore, with his wife and eunice and clifford hulsey had been to a dance at the lake cliff dance hall. they.
